      Mercedes-Benz has been on the offensive in major car markets as the firm has been on a spree of launching and unveiling its new products. In the recent past, the company has edged back its lost sheen with the adoption of Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform on all new car models. In a recent announcement, the German manufacturer said that the production of its famous sports car, SLS AMG series would cease with the launch of its final edition. The car that would be last production model has been already revealed as the SLS AMG GT Final Edition. Mercedes-Benz would be only producing only 350 units of the same and it would be available in both coupe and roadster models.

      As far as exterior design of SLS AMG GT Final Edition is concerned, it gets a few add-ons with a carbon fibre hood, front splitter and sportier new bumpers. Also, the company has made changes to the brakes of car with the provision of new specification AMG ones. Other additional equipment on the SLS AMG GT Final Edition include rear wing, carbon fibre Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs), blacked out headlights and AMG spec alloy wheels.

      At the interiors, the SLS AMG GT Final Edition gets almost the same quality equipment as given in the SLS AMG GT. However, minor changes in the form additional head-up display and the new integrated touchpad in the armrest can be seen. With the touchpad, one can now access certain features like Radio and Sat Nav system.

      Coming to the engine specifications of the car, it gets the same naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V8 unit that generates power that equals to 591 bhp alongside a maximum torque of 673 Nm. This powerful engine is mated to seven-speed dual clutch transmission system to further transfer the power to rear wheels. It must be noted that SLS AMG model was introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 2010 based on the iconic 300SL Gull-wing car, which was produced in 1960s. After its launch, the company manufactured many models of SLS AMG bearing changes in the output levels as well as the equipment.

      Rumours are rife that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new model that would replace the SLS AMG range of cars. Experts are saying that the upcoming model would be powered by the 5.5-litre biturbo V8 and will presumably be named as SLC AMG. As reports suggest, Mercedes-Benz would be showcasing the final edition of its sports car at the Tokyo Motor Show and Los Angeles Auto Show. Besides, SLS AMG GT Final Edition, the German car manufacturer would be also be lifting the curtains off its S65 AMG limousine at both the exhibitions. This model gets a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 621 bhp and 1000 Nm of torque.
