The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be launched on 19 January. The current generation of the S-Class was launched in January 2014 and the new S is the customary mid-life update of the limousine.

The new S-Class gets an all-new face with a new layout of the LED daytime running lamps and also a completely redesigned front bumper. The LED headlamp internals have also been altered for better lighting performance. Since it is a facelift, the body shell is the same and so are all the curves. But it does get a new set of alloys and of course, reworked tail lamps.

While the exterior hasn’t changed a lot, the 2018 S-Class has got a lot of new things going inside the cabin. You now have 64 ambient lighting options, innumerable comfort features and enhanced luxury. The twin display screens dominate the dash and have customisable layouts for the instrument cluster as well as for the infotainment systems.

Under the hood, the S-Class gets the new 48V electrical platform which forms the basis of the new electrically-assisted technology and is also compatible with the modern autonomous driving architecture. The S-Class will be offered with the standard 3.0-litre petrol and diesel V6 engine options along with the range topper S500 with the petrol V8. The Maybach S650 to be showcased at the Expo will spur the Maybach range based on the S-Class.
