      Mercedes-Benz revamps S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet

      Ahead of its official debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz has revealed the AMG badged facelifted version of the S-Class Coupe and the Cabriolet. The new Mercedes-AMG S63 4MATIC and S65 in the Coupé and Cabriolet form gets new cosmetic as well as technical upgrades.

      On the design aspect, Mercedes-Benz claims that the new-design front end gets Panamericana radiator grille, which gives the two-door, luxury-class performance vehicles an even more independent look. The cars also gets new OLED tail-lights which are incorporated with 66 individual OLEDs in addition to a new light graphic and revised range of interior trims. The new range also gets the extended driving assistance systems, the modern control and display concept with widescreen cockpit and a new generation of steering wheels along with integrated nergizing comfort control and an updated infotainment system. The exterior gets slightly altered bumpers with chrome highlights along with revised sills and chrome-plated tailpipes.

      Mercedes-AMG S-Class Cabriolet

      Under the hood, the AMG S63 4MATIC+ Coupe as well as Cabriolet is offered with a new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that generates 603bhp at 5500-6000rpm and 900Nm of torque at 2750-4500rpm. The new engine replaces the older twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 engine that generated 577bhp of power. The powerful engine comes mated to a nine-speed AMG speedshift automatic gearbox which powers the revised four-wheel-drive system.  The S63 4MATIC+ is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds and its top speed has been electronically restricted to 250kmph. The range topping S65 Coupé and Cabriolet has retained the older 6.0-litre V12 engine that comes mated to an older seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic. The rear-wheel drive vehicle generates 621bhp of power at 4800-5400rpm and 1000Nm of torque at 2300-4300rpm. The S65 is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.1 seconds and its top speed has been electronically restricted to 250kmph.
