Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury car maker, has been ranked as number one auto maker in the Indian auto industry by 'Brand Equity's Most Exciting Brands' study. The auto maker was also titled 9 position in most exciting brands of the country across all segments.
Speaking on this success, the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of Mercedes-Benz India, Eberhard Kern said, “Mercedes-Benz invented the automobile back in 1886 and even today, is the most aspirational brand amongst the Indian youth. This is the clear verdict that the research has confirmed. Fascinating products, engaging experiences and strong aspirational values seem to be the key drivers behind this imagery: the results also show the increasing awareness and interest of the young Indians towards the automotive category. The best or Nothing was the motto of our founder Karl Benz over a century back- and it holds true for us even today. In 2013 as well, we will continue to excite the fans and admirers of the Three Pointed Star in India.”
The 'Most exciting Brands' is a new annual research initiative of Brand Equity and Nielsen. This branch communicates directly to the youth, between age group of 15 and 24 from SEC A category, for listing brands that offers products according to the changing trends of customers. As a result, 'Most exciting Brands' has managed to list the most trendy and buzzy auto makers present in the country. This survey was conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.
