German carmaker Mercedes Benz has been thrilling the world with impressive performing cars. For a while now 5.5-litre V8 unit has been serving its fleet. Based on fresh updates, this time around the carmaker has been considering replacing the 5.5 Liter engine with a new twin-turbo 4-litre V8 engine sometime next year.
Though the new engines would be smaller capacity engines, it is expected to deliver even better power output than the M157. Moreover, the newer generation is also likely to deliver better emission and fuel efficiency figures than the existing version. The new 4.0 Liter engine has already been serving the Mercedes AMG GT sports car, but now it may find way in other variants as well. Currently, in the country the trims like E63 AMG, SLK 55 AMG, GL 63 AMG and ML 63 AMG have been powered by 5.5-litre engine that is likely to be phased out soon.
