Mercedes-Benz India will launch the S-Class Coupe in two variants – the S500 Coupe and S63 AMG Coupe – on July 30, 2015. Along with this, the German automaker will also roll out the G 63 AMG in a new paint scheme. The Coupe siblings will be imported as the CBUs (Complete built-up units) to India.

Powering the S500 Coupe will be a 4.7-litre V8 twin-turbo engine that also does duty to the S500 sedan. This locally assembled V8 engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 453bhp at 5,250rpm – 5,500rpm. The S63 AMG, on the other hand, is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine that puts out 585bhp and 900Nm of torque. Transmitting power to the wheels is a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission.

The performance-oriented S63 AMG can accelerate 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds and 3.9 seconds with rear wheel drive and 4MATIC all-wheel drive systems respectively. The coupe has an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. Feature like aggressive bumpers, large multi-spoke alloy wheels, AMG badge and a quad-exhaust unit distinguish the S63 AMG from the regular S Coupe. The former will be 65kgs lighter than the car it will replace – i.e. the CL63 AMG.

After these cars, Mercedes-Benz India will bring in B-Class facelift, MLC-Class Coupe-SUV, Maybach, AMG GT sportscar and few more cars.
