      Mercedes Benz India to launch E Class Cabriolet by year end

      Mercedes Benz India is planning to launch E Class Cabriolet in domestic market, buzz has it that the luxury auto maker could bring the vehicle in India by end of 2014. An expected price tag of Rs 80 lakh is being speculated for the E Class Cabriolet E400. Last year, Mercedes Benz India phased out E Class convertible, however the company witnesses surge in demand for its premium cars last year which has led the auto maker to bring E Class Cabriolet E400 to the domestic market.

      On the exterior front, the vehicle is expected to resemble E63 AMG, while inside the cabin we can expect to see traits of E Class sedan. Features like Body coloured bumpers and 20-inch wheels are likely to up the outer semblance of the car. Under the company’scustomizedprogram, customer might get the option to include use of leather and wood inside the cabin, further classing up the cabin. On the mechanical front, the vehicle is likely to be armed with a 3.0 litre, V6 engine that is capable of pumping out a maximum power output of 330 Bhp along with a top torque of 480 Nm. A 7G-Tronic Plus seven-speed, dual clutch automatic transmission could be coupled to the engine. The robust engine enables the vehicle to rush from zilch to 100 kmph within mere 5.3 seconds and achieve an electronically curbed top speed of 250 kmph.
