This initiative is targeted to those auto enthusiasts who are looking forward to learn smart driving techniques. Reportedly, individuals aged between 15 and 25 can file their enrolments for either 1 or 2 year programme. The training will be provided on test tracks by the talented racing professionals.

Expressing his views on this programme, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz India, Eberhard Kern was quoted as saying, “Each of the three levels builds up on the other and would be a door opener to get into professional racing.” He further added that this initiative is absolutely free for few individuals as the auto company is trying to create a pool of young racing drivers in the near future.

With this programme, the auto maker is planning to train the Indian youth for DTM and Formula 1 circuits. This initiative of Mercedes-Benz will be jointly supported by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. According to sources, the top 12 drivers will be then asked to mark attendance in a 2-day program at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, wherein the authorities will monitor their racing skills. Among the 12 candidates, 3 will be then selected for an advanced training programme in Germany, which is then expected to be followed by a professional training course and eventually the masters in SLS AMG GT3 training programme.
