Mercedes-Benz’s efforts at expanding its local footprint are bearing fruit in terms of the ever increasing sales numbers. Mercedes-Benz has now started creating its presence in tier 2 cities from this quarter apart from its Brand Tour initiative.

Mercedes-Benz has sold 11,869 units in the first three quarters of the calendar year 2017, falling just short of the 13,231 units it sold in the entire year of 2016. Mercedes had sold 9.924 units from January to September 2016, which means, the sales have grown by almost 20 per cent in 2017.

Much of these sales came through between July and September, thanks to the low tax tariff under the GST ambit. Mercedes-Benz sold 4,698 units in that quarter, which is a record for quarterly sales as well. With the tax being hiked to pre-GST levels and the festive season coming to an end at the beginning of this quarter, the sales will certainly not surpass the numbers of Q3. But you can certainly expect Mercedes-Benz to sell more than 15,000 cars in this calendar year, a record in the making for luxury car sales in India.
