      Dear Friends,

Here is an update on our sales numbers based upon November 2010 figures of wholesale ("wholesale" is a term that indicates the cars billed by the manufacturer - in this case Mercedes-Benz India to its dealership)

      Month of November 2010:

      • November has been yet another good month for us with a total wholesale of 518 units for the month. This is a jump of 89% as compared to Nov 2009 (275 units).
      • The key growth drivers have been the E-Class 251 units sold in November 2010, followed by the C-Class which sold 156 units and the S-Class which sold 39 units.

The SUVs GL-Class and M-Class continued their popularity run with total of 49 units thus bringing up the SUV wholesale total for Jan-Nov 2010 to 375 units.

      Jan-Nov 2010:

      • With record November sales, the total wholesale figures for Jan-Nov 2010 of Mercedes now stand at 5416 units. This is again an 86% growth over the same period of 2009 (Jan - Nov 2009 = 2913 units)
      • The key growth drivers in Jan-Nov 2010 have been the E-Class with 2119 units sold in Jan -Nov 2010 followed by the C-Class which sold 1929 units and the S-Class which sold 521 units in this calendar year.

Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India: "Mercedes-Benz clocked its best-ever November in its history with a total wholesale of 518 units in Nov 2010. Our strategy for the Indian market have been focused upon a) offering a comprehensive product portfolio b) delivering the highest value to the customer c) ensuring world class sales, after sales and vehicle ownership experience. These initiatives coupled with our aggressive product launches and network enhancement to smaller towns and cities have reinforced our strong traction with the Indian market in 2010.

The sales of Mercedes cars have grown by 86% in Jan- Nov 2010 as compared to the same period in 2009. This dramatic increase in the sales numbers against the backdrop of a bleak 2009 has in fact been significantly more than what was envisaged during our 2010 production planning. There is a considerable demand from our customers which we are trying hard to meet despite a constraint in kits availability."
