      Mercedes Benz GLC Preview

      The stylish Mercedes Benz GLC has recently been unveiled at the stylish and much awaited Mercedes Benz GLC in India. Previously known as the GLK, the GLC comes with the same underpinnings. Though the official pricing aspect has not been revealed, it is anticipated that the vehicle would be priced around Rs 40 lakh and be introduced via the CKD route. Post launch it is likely to emerge as a strong contender against the BMW X3 and the popular seller Audi Q5 in India.

      Official engine specifications for the Mercedes-Benz GLC is not available for now. However, it is believed that unlike the 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel engine serving the international market, the Indian market could get 1,200cc diesel engine to comply with emission norms in the country. The fairly powered engine would be mated to 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission that shall power the 4MATIC AWD system.

      On the design aspect the vehicle comes with a smart looking front fascia that gets upright twin-louver radiator grille that blends well with the optional LED headlights. While the lower end comes with wider air dams and larger air intake systems on either side. At the back, the vehicle gets split LED taillights that offer it a unique appeal. Moreover, the twin tail pipes and the roof spoiler enhances it overall charm.

      Speaking on dimesnions, the new Mercedes Benz GLC measures 1,644mm high, 2,874mm wheelbase, 4,656mm in length and 2,096mm in width. The vehicle offers ample amount of 500mm boot space that can be utilized upto 1,600 litres that s specially useful for long trips. For convenience, the GLC offers COMAND infotainment system, ARTICO leather upholstery, free-standing display, touchpad navigation system and choice between two 3-spoke steering wheel designs.

      Inside, the Mercedes GLC comes with nappa leather or open-pore wood trim for a rich upper market feel. The newly-developed touchpad supports handwriting recognition for added convenience. To see open sky, the vehicle comes with a panoramic sunroof. Mercedes as a brand has always been a strong choice among luxury car buyers in the country and the GLC loaded with interesting features and style, it is indeed expected to be a hotseller in its segment.
