Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG has been a successful model for the venture for the German auto giant in the global market, where it is available in base and S versions, capable of churning out 557 bhp and 585 bhp, respectively. The E63 AMG, to be introduced in India, will be powered by a twin turbo V8 petrol engine, which is expected to have a capacity of 5.5 litres. This powerful engine will generate a maximum power output of 557 bhp and torque of up to 720 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox, which will provide power to all its wheels.

Symbolising the true essence of an AMG design, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG looks stylish and sporty. Some of the salient features of the exteriors of this car include new bumpers, a rear spoiler lip, wind splitters and AMG badges. The interiors comprise Alcantara inserts, silver seatbelts and Nappa leather steering wheel. Industry experts say that the performance of the E63 AMG will be boosted by generator management, biturbocharging, direct petrol injection, air-water charge air cooling and four-valve technology with camshaft adjustment.

Although the global version of the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG has been a hit, it remains to be seen whether the international success will be replicated in India. The price of the Mercedes-Benz E63 is expected to be quite high as it will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Cars like Audi A8L and BMW 7 Series will provide the E63 AMG stiff competition.

It must be noted that the strategies of Mercedes-Benz have been quite aggressive with respect to the Indian car market. 2013 has been declared as the 'Year of Offensive' for the brand with three pointed star in India. Also, Mercedes-Benz india has already introduced a number of models in 2013 in the country. This step has been taken by the auto maker to regain the dominance it once enjoyed in the Indian car market. Interestingly, the introduction of E63 AMG was preceded by GL-Class SUV, new E-Class and the diesel version of the B-Class premium hatchback.
