Mercedes-Benz has just revealed the new E-Class and the images of the long wheelbase have been snapped. The E-Class LWB has been spotted in China, which has been the key market for these kind of vehicles. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class long wheelbase is made on the same platform like the E-Class and this time, the E-Class will also have a Maybach version. The new E-Class LWB is being made for markets like China, but India too is being considered, especially given the high demand for chauffeur driven vehicles.
The new E-Class LWB will be around 80mm to 120mm longer than the regular E-Class, which measures 4880mm in length. The E400 will be the first to be offered as the LWB version. It will produce around 333bhp of max power and 480Nm of torque and shall come mated to a nine-speed transmission (9G-TRONIC). The new E-Class is likely to make its way into India by the end of this year as Mercedes-Benz will not want to miss out on the advantage it has over its competition. For China, the E-Class LWB will be manufactured by the Beijing Mercedes-Benz JV. It will be launched by spring of 2016.
