The uncertainty behind the launch of Mercedes’ CLA45 AMG has vanished as the company has proclaimed launch date of the vehicle in domestic market. July 22nd is when the Stuttgart based auto major will unleash the AMG variant of CLA sedan for sale in India. CLA45 AMG will underpin the Modular Front Architecture (MFA), as seen in its regular model along with the A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks.
Powering the saloon is an athletic 2.0 litre, direct injection, turbocharged, stock four cylinder engine. The mighty engine has been tuned to yield towering power of 360 Bhp along with a peak torque of 450 Nm enabling the vehicle to accelerate from stand still to 100 kmph within 4.3 seconds. An electronically curbed top speed of 250 kmph is achieved by the vehicle. A SpeedShift DCT seven-speed transmission is paired with the engine and a 4MATIC system is also equipped in the saloon that transmits power to all four wheels.
In India, the saloon will be juxtaposed to cars like BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster and the Audi TT based on its stance, performance and price. Mercedes Benz will bring the car in India as a completely built unit, hence we expect the saloon to be priced between Rs 62 lakh to Rs 67 lakh (hypothetical price). More details on the car will be revealed on the day of launch.
