Thanks to the response that the Star Wars edition CLA180 received from the Japanese market last month, the company decided to now offer the G63 special edition to celebrate AMG’s existence for the past 50 years. So what’s new about this iteration? The special edition G63 carries an electric blue shade that the car maker fondly calls Mauritius Blue. This is combined with some contrasting glossy back paint on the mirrors, bumpers, roof, and those AMG wheels that have a star-shaped five-spoke design.

Mercedes-AMG has not made any changes to the powertrain and it continues to use the same 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 motor which pumps out 563bhp and 761Nm of torque. However, the interiors of this special edition gets four colours that are finished in two-tone trim that include black, mocha brown, porcelain white and saddle brown. Buyers will also get premium leather that’s finished in exotic diamond stitching, and some exquisite AMG carbon-fibre trim too. Mercedes-AMG has expressed their intent to build 50 of these unique G63 AMGs for prospective buyers.
