As you have guessed it right, the Roadster is the drop-top avatar of the AMG GT. The open air motoring is powered by a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged petrol V8 that pumps 470bhp of power and 630Nm of torque from a car that barely weighs over a tonne. The Roadster gets an aggressive vertically slatted chrome grille that adds menace to the otherwise classic lines of the AMG GT.

The AMG GT R is the craziest road-legal Mercedes and is based on the Nurburgring-winning AMG GT3 platform. No wonder it pumps a hundred horses more (585bhp to be precise), with 700Nm of torque driving the rear wheels. To make sure this missile is manoeuvrable, it gets rear-wheel steering to assist turn-ins at high speed and offer more cornering grip. And it is lighter than the AMG GT S as well, due to the extensive use of carbon-fibre, 20-inch aluminium wheels and titanium exhaust system that sounds like a race car.

With the AMG GT S at about Rs 2.39 crores, expect the Roadster to be priced at about Rs 2.7 crores and the GT R at nothing less than Rs 3 crores.
