With the recent increase in demand of Ghibli and Quattroporte models, Maserati has, for the first time in history, surpassed its sturdy cousin, Ferrari, by a revenue of approximately €1 million. This has happened due to the plans and efforts put in by Maserati officials.

Maserati is a renowned Italian Luxury Car brand, established in 1914. Maserati has a brief history of shifting from one company to another with an initial collaboration with Ferrari, which was further shifted to Fiat. As a matter of fact, currently Ferrari is also owned by Fiat, which makes Maserati and Ferrari, close yet strict competitors. Maserati had been manufacturing cars since the very beginning, when the owners or the makers of the company used to build Grand Prix cars.

The month May 2014 marked a golden page in history when Maserati, with a record sale of over 3,000 units surpassed Ferrari. The net revenue generated by Maserati in its third quarter of 2014 was €90 million, which was more than double the amount of the revenue that it generated in the previous year. On the other hand, Ferrari was able to generate a revenue of €89 million, which generated a tough competition between the two car manufacturing companies.

The reason of these high sales has been the keen interest of people in the Quattroporte and Ghibli models along with the Gran Turismo. Maserati has also announced the launch of Maserati Levante, its first Sports Utility Vehicle, by 2015 with the Maserati Alfieri lined up for launch in 2016.

Ferrari’s new CEO, Sergio Marchionne, has been observing this market trend and is excited about bringing Ferrari back on the top of the chart. With reviving the Ferrari car sales in the market, he also plans to bring innovations in the company.
