Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has updated its biggest selling model, the Quattroporte for 2017. The sporty luxury sedan has been reintroduced with an exterior restyling, better interior package and additional features. There’s also GranLusso and GranSport trims on offer.

Upfront, there is a new bumper design with matte black profile. The grille is more pointed and imposing, and has new vertical chrome elements. Other distinguishing details of the 2017 Quattroporte are the matte black side skirts and the exterior mirrors, which have been slightly restyled to incorporate new technical elements. Inside, the changes begin with a clearer integration of the new interface elements with the infotainment area and tunnel console.
The redesigned dashboard now accommodates an 8.4-inch screen. The infotainment system is compatible with both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring functions.
With the 2017 Quattroporte, Maserati has made a few changes to the model’s range by offering two new trims called GranLusso and GranSport. Both are available as an upgrade for all V6 powertrain versions (Quattroporte Diesel and Quattroporte S). Meanwhile, the top of the range Quattroporte GTS, which features the twin-turbo V8, will be available only with either the GranLusso or GranSport trims as part of the standard equipment.

Engine wise, the Quattroporte remains faithful to its traditions with a wide range of engines options starting with the Quattroporte GTS which is powered by a 530bhp, turbocharged 3.8-litre Ferrari-developed V8 with rear wheel drive. There’s also a 410bhp, 3-litre twin turbo V6 and 3-litre V6 turbo diesel engine. All versions are fitted with the ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox and electronically-controlled suspension.

The 2017 Quattroporte will be available in Europe from June 2016, replacing the outgoing model that has been around since 2013. The latter has been a fairly successful model for Maserati with sales of over 24,000 units in several key global markets including India.
