At the beginning of 2010, Suzuki Chief, Osama Suzuki had stated that 2010 will be a tough year for the company in India owing to the slew of new car launches. However, MSIL has taken a tough stance on the issue and seems to be going very strong inspite of the new entrants and tougher competition. It recently launched the new Wagon R with new KB series engine that complies with new emission norms and delivers better mileage.

Maruti Suzuki is also planning to introduce new Maruti Swift 2011 model early next year. The new third generation model will be on sale in British market from this autumn. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with better styling, added features that makes a strong style statement with its revamped interiors as well. The new model is also lighter but with tougher strength steels for better safety. Indian customers and auto enthusiasts eagerly await this model to be launched in first quarter of 2011.

Meanwhile, MSIL is also ramping up its production at its Gurgaon and Manesar plants. Gurgaon facility currently manufactures 700,000 units while Manesar plant produced 300,000 units. MSIL intends to increase Manesar plant production by another 250,000 units annually. Simultaneously, the Gurgaon capacity would also be considerably enhanced. That calls for advanced model mix management and an array of skills by the same worker, improved shopfloor dynamic and real-time production that cuts down on storage.

MSIL has indicated that it will keep introducing smaller, neater and cleaner cars for the new generation in India and abroad.
