Maruti has plans to launch the YBA in India with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This new engine will come bolted to a five-speed manual and CVT box as well. The 1.2-litre petrol engine might be underpowered and the 1.4-litre petrol won’t match up with the competition. So, Suzuki has been testing the YBA with a 1.5-litre petrol engine.

We could expect this engine to make its way on the SUV to add on to the performance factor. Suzuki has been using this engine for a while now and it will be introduced in the Indian car market as well. The YBA will be coming with a 1.3-litre diesel engine too. This engine will be producing 90bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The YBA is based on Maruti Suzuki’s new fifth generation platform that is lighter and stronger. This will add on to the power of the new YBA and make it more fuel-efficient as well. The YBA shall be coming loaded with features like keyless entry, push start and stop, in-dash music system, with touchscreen system with navigation system with reverse parking camera on the higher trim variants. Dual airbags and ABS will be offered as a standard feature on all the variants. Maruti will be pricing this new compact SUV at about Rs 7-10 lakhs and it is likely to be named as Vitara Brezza.
