Since mid-2010, it is a well documented fact that any person scheduling a visit to Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant should be aware of its hostile nature. The perception of the plants criminal nature seemed like an exaggeration to most people. The truth however is quite the contrary.

The ironical thing about the Manesar plant is the surrounding area surrounding seems a whole lot civilised when compared to the plant premises. Walking through the management offices on the plant premises does not exude efficiency and order but chaos. These feelings were further amplified by the aggressive outburst by the employees.

Any visitor has to go through three iron gates and numerous security checks at each gate. This gives way to an insecure feeling with many foul tempered people on the mover. To see the workforce at the Manesar plant belies all expectation one would have of the country's largest car maker's factory premises. The employees were constantly whining and complaining in a loud manner. Another surprising element that never fails to astonish any visitor is the absence of any management personnel, considering the level of indiscipline prevalent. On the inside, the Manesar plant looked like the unfriendly local residents have forcefully taken over the operations.

After declaring a lock-out at their Manesar factory, Maruti Suzuki India maintains that the dispatch of cars to the dealership across the country from its stockyard at Manesar plant will continue as before. At present, the Maruti Stockyard at Manesar has an inventory of about 26,000 units of their cars.

In a recent statement given in the National Capital, M M Singh, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Chief Operating officer (Production), said, "The dispatch operations won't be affected and will continue from Manesar."

Maruti Suzuki resumed the supply of cars from their stockyard on Friday, just two day after the deadly violence at company’s Manesar plant. The same stockyard is also used for delivering cars to the dealerships spread across the country, after manufactured at the company’s Gurgaon plant.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Chairman R C Bhargava said, "Presently there is a lockout. To me, what is more important is safety of my colleagues than producing some cars to make some money."
