Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest car maker, is gearing-up to launch its much anticipated diesel version of Maruti SX4 in the Indian market in the next week. As per unconfirmed reports, the company will roll-out the car in the country on 22nd of this month.
The all new Maruti SX4 diesel will come powered by a highly sophisticated 90bhp, multi jet diesel engine. The powerful engine of the car will come incorporated with VGT (variable Geometry Turbocharger) that has already been doing duties in the likes of Fiat Linea and Indigo Manza.
With enhanced performance and improved fuel economy, the new Maruti SX4 Diesel will be about 70 kg lighter than the existing version of SX4 in the country. The diesel engine of SX4 that has been sourced from Fiat India is similar to the diesel engine used in other Maruti cars such as Swift and Dzire, but the addition of VGT will further boost the performance level of the car.
It is expected that the new Maruti SX4 diesel would be about Rs 70,000 costlier from its petrol counterpart. However, the company is yet to disclose the details like pricing and exact date of the launch of this car in the country.
