India’s largest automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki announced a premium chain of showrooms called NEXA in 2015. Aimed at millennials, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1.4 million cars through its NEXA dealerships and this month marks the sixth anniversary of the NEXA brand.

With about 380 showrooms across 234 cities of India, first-time car buyers accounted for over 70 percent of NEXA’s overall sales. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki claims that roughly fifty percent of the customers at NEXA belong to the mid-30’s.

Established on 23 July 2015, the first car to be available at NEXA showrooms was the S-Cross followed by the Baleno in the same year. After two years, Maruti Suzuki introduced Ignis in India to be exclusively sold at NEXA dealerships. Meanwhile, the carmaker also decided to sell the Ciaz via the NEXA outlets in 2017. And a couple of years ago, pre-coronavirus era to be specific, Maruti Suzuki showcased a revamped version of the Ertiga renamed as XL6; also to be sold at NEXA showrooms.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “It is our constant endeavour to keep reinventing to deliver the NEXA experience to ever-evolving customers in the field of automobile and lifestyle. With over 380 showrooms across the country, NEXA has helped us attract a new set of customers who were earlier not considering a Maruti Suzuki vehicle. The milestone of 6 years and 1.4million customers is a testimony of the trust that our customers have shown us, over the years.”
