Talk about fuel efficiency and immediately the brand Maruti Suzuki stands tall. Ever since the Auto Expo ended earlier this year the local Maruti Suzuki fans have been waiting in anticipation for the XA Alpha launch. The Indian carmaker Maruti Suzuki has not come-up with an official launch date yet, but it is believed that the car might as well be launched sometime early next year. Post launch, the XA Alpha shall be the first SUV from Maruti Suzuki to be launched in the country. Unofficial reports have stated around 13 – 16 kmpl for the petrol version, whereas the diesel version is stated to deliver 17 – 20 kmpl. Confirmed figures shall be revealed once the car has been released.
The compact SUV segment in the country is flooded with a strong line-up from International brands like Hyundai, Ford, Toyota and Renault. The yet to be launched Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha, holds a strong capability to gain a strong footing amongst the competition due to its unique qualities like reliability, efficiency and affordability. On the exterior, the XA Alpha looks sturdy and is believed to carry all the necessary features required to make it a competitive model in its respective segment. As seen at the Auto Expo event, the compact SUV shall loaded with interesting features. Moreover, to take a lead in this segment, Maruti Suzuki is likely to price the XA Alpha in a competitive price bracket.
Reports also state that Suzuki is also developing a variety of engines, namely 1.2-litre, 0.8-litre, 1.4-litre, to provide interested buyer with a wider option range. The car is expected to generate a lot of curiosity as this would be Maruti Suzuki’s first SUV attempt to be launched in this segment. It is anticipated that similar engines may be used for WagonR, Ritz, Swift and Ertiga models. As per sources, the car shall be powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine. It is also said that the diesel engine has been developed by Suzuki, and the current line featuring Fiat's Multijet technology may be put to rest. For now, the car shall be available in diesel version, but a petrol version can be expected down the line. Maruti Suzuki has always stood-by people's expectations and it would be interesting to see if this new SUV named XA Alpha manages to keep up with the company's reputation for reliable, efficient and cost-effective car. If Maruti Suzuki decides to usher in a Automatic transmission variant, it could further boost its sales post launch.
