Country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki has been holding a strong spot in hatchback segment with its tall boy charm, Wagon R that has evolved beautifully over the decade in the past. To further enhance the Wagon R affordable ownership experience, the company has reportedly been planning on introducing the idling-stop technology across its offering in the country. The first one to receive it is likely to be the Wagon R hatchback.
The higher end vehicles usually come with this start-stop function, but this would be the first time that it would be used in a budget friendly trim. Owing to the new technology, the vehicle is capable of delivering an addition 2-3 kmpl under regular driving conditions. The technology cuts off the engine everytime the vehicle comes to a complete stop and restarts everytime the driver presses the clutch. The vehicle shall receive Eco Cool system that continues to keep cool air flowing even when the car is idling by using a type of cooling storage device that has been utilized in the air conditioner unit to chill air.
