The tall-boy Wagon R from Maruti Suzuki has been a popular choice in its segment. For a while now news has been doing rounds that the carmaker may offer the hatchback with an AMT option. As per sources, the company may offer the AMT variant to customers next month. The company shall offer the AMT option on the VXi trim. Being a popular urban choice, the vehicle is indeed expected to witness more demand in coming days.
The vehicle shall continue to be powered by 998cc, 3-cylinder, K10B petrol engine mated to five speed manual transmission that serves the existing model and generates 67bhp and 90nm of torque. The AMT system shall be sourced Magneti Marelli that also serves the Alto K10. Major cosmetic upgrades are not expected for now and it may get an automatic badging. Earlier, it was also seen that LXi test mules also had an AMT option. More details may be revealed next month.
