Maruti Suzuki to offer MapmyIndia GPS devices at its retail stores

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's favourite passenger car manufacturer, has tied up with MapmyIndia for supplying GPS navigation systems to the domestic car buyers. MapmyIndia is one of the leading providers of GPS systems and its domain comprises digital maps, GPS receivers, location apps and GIS solutions. As per reports, all of the 550 Maruti Suzuki retail outlets across the nation will now offer MapmyIndia GPS devices as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) accessories. Hence, it is going to be easier for Indian car buyers looking to have their new car equipped with GPS functionality, because they won't have to go elsewhere and can purchase the device at the store only.

Expressing his delight with the new association, Shivalik Prasad, Executive Director of MapmyIndia, was quoted as saying, “Maruti Suzuki is the leader of the Indian automobile industry by far. The availability of MapmyIndia GPS products as a Maruti Genuine Accessory at Maruti Suzuki showrooms across India helps us move forward in our mission to power every car in India. It’s our commitment to give the best driving experience to Maruti Suzuki customers.”

At present, MapmyIndia's best selling GPS devices are the Vx140s Premium and Zx250, which will grace Maruti Suzuki's stores from now on. Priced at Rs. 11,990, the Vx140s GPS device offers a complete 3D visual and voice navigation interface, which covers 4,751 Indian cities at street level. The device also features Bluetooth hands free calling with mike - speaker, a large 4.3 inch touchscreen that is multimedia friendly and can also function as a music, movie and photo player. The system supports 2GB internal memory storage, along with an 8GB expandable SD card slot. Priced at Rs. 15,990, the Zx250 features all features of Vx140s and comes with a 5 inch touchscreen and reverse camera support.
