Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's favourite passenger car maker, seems to have developed a liking for introducing special edition models of its popular products in the domestic market. The company has already launched three visually appealing model facelifts during the ongoing December 2012 alone, comprising the likes of Alto K10 Knightracer entry-level hatch and a limited edition A-Star Aktiv hatchback. Further, MSIL has also launched a revamped model of its Grand Vitara premium Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The freshly launched facelifted hatchbacks- limited edition A-Star Aktiv and Alto K10 Knightracer have a lot many things in common between them. For instance, both the cars have been added with a few minor cosmetic modifications and not much has changed in the engine department and overall body frames. The exteriors looks of both Alto K10 Knightracer and A-Star Aktiv are laced with interesting body graphics in bright blue and red coloured decals, respectively. There is no doubt that with these new variants, Maruti Suzuki is aiming to capitalise on the looks driven domestic car lovers.

The interiors installed are slightly better in quality and certain enticing additions are done regarding music stereo and other convenience options. The bottom line that has emerged is that MSIL is aiming to capture the imagination of young Indian car enthusiasts, by offering them smart, dapper and visually enchanting cars in order to appeal to their coming-of-age buying nature.

Further, the country's largest passenger car maker also appears spot on to enable its failed offering in the utility vehicle segment – Grand Vitara premium SUV, to have another innings on the domestic turf. The 2013 Grand Vitara facelift version seems both classy and modish at the same time and if coupled with an attractive pricing scheme, could definitely stir up the segment in the country. The premium SUV looks more complete in the traditional sense and comes trimmed with a number of interesting features, targeting the young performance oriented Indian car enthusiasts.
