Maruti Suzuki SX4 was launched more than five years back in 2007 and immediately consolidated a strong market presence in the Indian auto sector. The coming-of-age Maruti Suzuki SX4 maintained strong sales for a considerable amount of time and still manages some decent sales in the country.

Upon its launch on domestic turf, Maruti Suzuki SX4 posed some tiff competition against the likes of Honda City sedan, Hyundai Accent and performed well in terms of vehicle sales in the country. Currently, the SX4 saloon competes against an extremely competitive environment, comprising the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna Fluidic, Nissan Sunny, Renault Scala and Volkswagen Vento in the Indian market.

Recently, the sales and popularity of SX4 have witnessed a sharp decline among local car enthusiasts. The absence of a CNG powered dual fuel version has hampered sales as well as demand for the luxury saloon in Indian market. Interestingly, eyeing the shift in trend among domestic audience, Honda Cars India introduced a dual fuel petrol-CNG powered model of its City sedan, just a while back in the country.

MSIL, the country's favourite passenger vehicle maker, seems set to introduce a SX4 facelift next year in the domestic auto market with a CNG option.
