Catering to change in Indian customer preferences, Maruti Suzuki has reportedly been planning on introducing AMT version on its best-selling sedan Swift Dzire soon. The company calls it AGS (Auto Gear Shift) technology. The new option could however be offered only on the diesel version for now and it will go on sale sometime early next year. Ever since AMT was first introduced in the Celerio hatchback, the technology has indeed found many takers in recent times.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire in diesel continues to be powered by 1,248cc DDiS engine that generates about 74bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Maruti may also offer ABS and airbags as standard across all variants during the launch of the new model. On the pricing aspect, the new model could cost an additional Rs 40,000 over the existing models. More feature upgrades are not expected for now, if any, it shall be known at a later date.
