At the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, Maruti Suzuki India showcased the S-Cross SX4 crossover. The crossover was scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of 2015 calendar year; however, the launch delayed. Now, the SX4 S-Cross is likely to be launched in April, 2015. It is one of the most awaited launches of this year, and the crossover will rival against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio etc. The other big launch from MSI is the YRA premium hatchback, which might go on sale during this year's festive season.

The SX4 S-Cross crossover shown at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo was in pre-production form; however, the company has slightly tweaked the car to make it road compatible. Featuring a crossover type styling, the crossover has sporty characteristics. It has high ground clearance, black plastic cladding all around the body and metal scuff plates under the bumper. MSI might also introduce the ‘Allgrip’ all-wheel drive system. Dimensionally, the S-Cross is 4,300mm long, 1,765mm wide and 1,575mm high, and 2,600mm wheelbase. The top-end model will get LED daytime running lamps, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, automatic AC and other high end elements.

The crossover will get a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that is good for 118bhp and 320Nm of torque, while the petrol motor is the 1.6-litre unit that makes 120bhp and 156Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox driving the power to front wheels will come as standard.

Talking about YRA premium hatchback, the global hatch will make its worlddebutat the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. To be positioned above theSwift hatchback, the hatch will rival against the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and soon-to-be launched Honda Jazz.
