Maruti Suzuki has resumed production today following maintenance closure due to fire at its supplier, Subros limited facilit, in Manesar. The country’s largest car maker had to suspend production as the fire at the supplier’s factory on 29 May disrupted deliveries for air-conditioner compressors. Subros had not reported any injury or major casualty due to the incident.

The halt in production earlier had resulted in slightly stretching the delivery period for Maruti’s popular sellers like the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza. With collaborative efforts, Maruti Suzuki has begun smooth operations at the facilities in Manesar and Gurgaon. The Manesar facility is capable of churning out eight lakh units a year, while the Gurgaon plant has a production capacity of about seven lakh units a year.

Recently Maruti Suzuki had launched a facelift version of its popular entry-level car, the Alto 800 at a lucrative starting price tag of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The upgraded model features fresh cosmetic upgrades and a couple of additional features. It also gets an optional airbag starting from the base variant.
