Maruti Suzuki has already increased the production of the Vitara Brezza at their manufacturing plant. The company had planned to manufacture 80,000 units per annum, which has now increased to one lakh units annually.

The compact SUV will only be sold in the Indian market for now and the manufacturer has no plans of selling the vehicle overseas for the time being. All of the production will cater to the domestic demand and the company might think of exporting the car at a later stage.

The Vitara Brezza is a compact vehicle that measures less than four metres in length. This is Maruti Suzuki's first vehicle to enter the compact SUV segment and the carmaker wants it to be the clear leader in this segment. It is good for the company to bank on the success of this diesel variant, but also commendable that they are taking steps in this regard. The number of inquiries have exceeded their expectations and the manufacturer intends to keep an inventory ready for the increase in demand.

Maruti Suzuki will adjust their production facilities to be able to cater to the demand of the Vitara Brezza. The company wants this compact SUV to be the clear segment leader and believes that the car will help the compact SUV segment in India to expand substantially. If this segment grows to about 1.5-2 lakh, they would also target a 45-50 per cent segment share.
