In a bid to maintain its pinnacle in India, country’s leading auto giant, Maruti Suzuki India is planning to bring forth some of its new offerings for Indian customers. While this will also serve a dual purpose of increasing company’s sales and transforming its image from being a small car maker to an auto major that offers variety in its portfolio.

MSI will wrap up current year with the launch of new Swift Dzire slated to be rolled out soon. Up its sleeve is the much talked about SX4 S-Cross crossover that is yet in testing phase, we expect the vehicle to reach dealerships by next year. The vehicle will face competition from the likes of Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport primarily in its segment.

Yet another new model that could go on sale next year is Wagon R Xrest, we got to see glimpse of the vehicle earlier this year at the 12th Auto Expo. Wagon R Xrest is essentially the crossover like vehicle based on Wagon R hatchback.

To rival the likes of premium hatchbacks in India like Hyundai Elite i20 and new Honda Jazz (slated to launch next year), MSI is developing YRA hatchback. Hatchbacks are MSI’s forte, though it has a number of hatchbacks on offing, yet it lacks a premium hatchback in its portfolio. Buzz has it that the vehicle could make an appearance in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show.

Reports suggest that MSI is also working towards a new version of Ritz. Sporting cosmetic and mechanical upgrades, the hatchback is likely to go on sale next year. The new generation Ritz is expected to underpin second generation Swift platform.

Yet another new model in pipeline is YBA compact SUV expected to barge in by 2016. Likely to be priced aggressively, the compact SUV will take on the segment best, Ford EcoSport.

MSI’s flagship, Swift hatchback will undergo comprehensive changes, while the company of late spawned facelifted Swift in domestic market, the next-generation version of the B segment hatchback is rumoured to be launched in 2017.
