Following the Infrastructure Cess on automobiles in Union Budget 2016-17, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said Ex-showroom prices of its models would go up in the range of Rs 1,441/- to Rs 34,494/- across its models. There is an additional one per cent infrastructure cess on petrol, CNG and LPG vehicles. While the diesel engines will be getting a hike of 2.5 per cent instead of one. These norms are valid for vehicles that are under four metres in length and have petrol engines under 1.2-litre and diesels under 1.5-litre.

As Smart Hybrid models (Ciaz SHVS and Ertiga SHVS) are exempt from the Infrastructure Cess, there is no change in the prices of these models. This means that the price of the diesel models of the Ciaz and the Ertiga will remain the same. Maruti Suzuki will be increasing these prices once the taxes are levied.

The S-Cross,will also have one percent luxury cess that will increase their pricing too. This will mean that there will be an increase in price throughout the product portfolio of Maruti Suzuki beginning from the Alto 800 to the S-Cross.
