Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is working on the facelifted version of its highly successful Ertiga MPV. This seven seater MPV is known for its high fuel efficiency, and the company sells over 4,000 units/month of the car on an average. However, the Ertiga MPV's sales affected ever since the launch of Honda Mobilio MPV, which is doing great business for its maker. In order to compete well against the Mobilio, Maruti is now readying the facelifted Ertiga MPV.

The company has already started testing the Ertiga facelift, and is likely to hit the Indian showrooms by the mid-2015. The updated Ertiga is likely to get slightly tweaked exteriors and interiors. If reports are to be believed, the facelifted model gets a restyled grille, new front and rear bumper and few other changes to doors, wheels and lights. The interiors of the MPV are likely to get minimal changes. The vehicle is expected to get an updated infotainment system and some additions to its feature list.

Mechanically, the Ertiga is expected to remain unchanged and will continue to be offered in petrol, diesel and CNG fuel options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.4-litre K-Series engine, while the oil burner is the popular Fiat sourced 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel unit. A five-speed manual transmission driving the power to front wheels would come as standard, while a four-speed automatic transmission is likely to come as an optional.
