Maruti Suzuki has launched the Alto 800 facelift, to tackle the growing competition in the entry-level segment. The hatchback is available in four trims – STD, LX, LXi and VXi, in the price range of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) to Rs 3.76 lakh, with CNG variant available in the LXi trim.

There are very few changes to the exterior of the new Alto 800. There is a new large grille in the front bumper, which replaces the hexagonal unit of the previous version. The internal elements of the headlamps have also been altered; but that apart the new Alto is identical to the outgoing model in terms of looks. Maruti is offering the car in two new exterior colours – Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue.

The hatchback now gets few additional features compared to before. It has remote locking, child lock, integrated headrests and bottle holders for the rear bench. Also the co-driver side ORVM has been made standard in all variants. Maruti has refreshed the cabin with new dark grey dashboard and new upholstery for seats and door inserts.

Maruti continues to use the same engine to power the Alto 800 – the 800cc petrol unit producing 47bhp and 69Nm of torque. However with some tweaks, the car now has ARAI claimed efficiency of 24.7kmpl with petrol and 33.44Km/Kg with CNG.
