Barely six months post launch, the S-Cross from Maruti Suzuki has failed to generate decent sales numbers. The S-Cross is possibly the only model from India’s largest carmakers that has fared below average expectancy. Within months of launch, dealers in the country had begun offering discounts of about Rs 1 Lakh. The company’s efforts in form of limited edition S-Cross Premia also failed to lure carbuyers in the country.
Customers looking forward to driving home a new powerful diesel crossover this New Year may consider the 1.6-litre DDiS 350 variant of S-Cross that has been offered at discounts of as much as Rs 5.5-lakh. Sources have revealed that a high number of unsold units of this powerful variant have been lying with the company and its dealers, therefore efforts are being made to clear off the existing inventory.
