Maruti Suzuki India Limited has ruled the Indian market since long. It has also made India as its exports hub and exports its global cars under the Suzuki brand umbrella. Its main market has been the European markets including France, Germany, UK, Italy, and Netherlands. It has witnessed 20-30 percent decline in its sales in Europe. "Our sales have declined at least 20-30 per cent in Europe in 2010 due to the cancellation of scrappage schemes. We hope demand will once more pick-up and we will export more cars to Europe. Europe is a good market for us," said Maruti Suzuki's Managing Director and CEO, Shinzo Nakanishi.

Now the company is exploring new shores including Australia, Hong Kong, Brunei, Taiwan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and South Africa. "We will also look at exporting Ritz, Estillo and even newly launched Wagon R to countries where the demand for these cars emerges," he said.

MSIL is also expanding its domestic capacity by 70,000 units at its Manesar plant to meet the production demand. "We are trying to eliminate wasteful operations in our manufacturing plants and increase productivity levels of employees. We aim to produce at least 70,000 cars with all these measures," Maruti Suziki's managing executive officer (Engineering) IV Rao said.
