The leading Italian car maker Fiat is planning to roll-out an all new compact MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) in the Indian market, where it will be rivaling the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, and Mahindra Xylo.
As per the recent media reports, the Italian car maker is planning to roll-out a seven seater version of their popular micro MPV 500L. This will be an extended version of the five-seater Fiat 500L, which will be sharing its platform with premium hatchback Fiat Punto.
It is expected that the new Fiat crossover will be launched in the country with a more powerful 1.3L Multijet II engine, which is expected to be delivering peak power of 90 bhp. Besides India, the new seven seater version of Fiat 500L is also expected to be launched in the Italian market where it would be replacing the existing Fiat MUV – Idea.
In India, the new Fiat MUV is likely to be having more than 80 percent of local content, which will surely enable the car maker to shelve it more competitively in the Indian market, in the price segment of Rs 8 to 10 lakh.
