Festive season in India is considered the most appropriate and auspicious time to buy a new vehicle. Hence auto makers deliberately schedule launch of their new cars during this time. Similarly auto cos have lined up pile of new car and facelift launches this festive season which is on brink to commence. Among one of the most crucial and highly anticipated launches is MSI’s Ciaz sedan. Expected to be rolled out in second half of September, Ciaz will fill in the void created with the exit of SX4 sedan. This is one segment where MSI has always struggled, however from the glimpse of the vehicle seen during 2014 Auto Expo in the form of Ciaz Concept and later in near production form as Alvio at 2014 Beijing Motor Show it seems that MSI has finally come up with the right product for this segment.

In mood of taking no chance, the auto maker has slated the launch of its new product during festive season when customer sentiment is high. This is likely to give new City rivalling sedan a good start in domestic market. Taking design inspiration from Suzuki Authentics concept, the sedan flaunts an eye catching semblance. In order to compete with the segment best new City sedan, MSI will have to equip some high end features. From what we know, Ciaz will get features such as projector head lights, multi-spoke alloy wheels, multifunction steering wheel, engine starter button, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear AC vents, climate control, ABS with EBD and two airbags. With a length of around 4,545 mm (slightly more than new City), MSI has focused on the rear seat. The sedan will be made available in both petrol and diesel engine options, 1.4 litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3 litre Multijet Fiat sourced engine will be employed in petrol and diesel variants. Besides these, an affordable price tag can turn the game in MSI’s favour.
