      Maruti attains yet another feat, rolls-out 10-millionth car

      The Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki attained yet another milestone in the Indian market on Tuesday by rolling-out its 10 millionth car from its massive manufacturing facility in Gurgaon. Maruti is the first ever Indian car maker which has achieved this mark. With achieving this feat, Maruti has joined the league of the global auto giants like Toyota, General Motors, Ford Renault and Volkswagen which have registered this milestone.

      The 10-millionth car was a metallic breeze blue coloured WagonR VXi. The company said in a statement on the occasion, "With this landmark achievement, Maruti Suzuki becomes the only Indian car company that makes its entry into the select club of automobile manufacturers across the globe who have crossed this milestone."

      It’s been more than 27 years since the company is operating in the Indian market as it started its Indian operations in year 1983 by handing over its first ever car model – a Maruti 800 – to the customer.

      At present, the company has a manufacturing capacity of 12 lakh units per annum in the Indian market that comprises of the capacity of 8.5 lakh units at the Gurgaon plant and 3.5 lakh units at Manesar plant.
