The Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki has shuffled the top brass of its Manesar based car manufacturing plant along with appointing new plant head and managers. The decision of making a major change in the staff came after about four months of the end of a series of strikes at its Manesar plant, which left the production and supplies at this plant completely crippled.

It seems like the company is aggressively planning to save the decreasing market share which has dipped to below 40 percent for the first time in its 28 years of operations in the country. The Indian auto giant had recently raised the commission of its dealers by Rs 1000 to 2000 per car.

Both units at the Manesar plant of the company, where it produces popular models like hatchback Maruti Swift, entry level sedan Maruti Swift Dzire and flagship exports model Maruti A-Star, will now be headed by Mr. Vikram Khazanchi. Mr. Khazanchi is replacing Mr. LK Jain who will be overseeing firm’s upcoming engine and casting facility in Gurgaon.

On the request of anonymity, a Maruti worker said to ET, "There are many changes in the set-up as of now and workers are more relaxed on the shop floor. We have been assured of a union along with new committees to address our grievances within the plant."
