Maruti Suzuki Alto will be sold in Chile, South America shortly. Maruti Suzuki India has been scouting for various overseas destinations since long owing to falling sales in European countries. Besides Chile, MSIL will also start exporting Alto K-Series model to Algeria. The exported model will be powered by 1.0 liter 3 cylinder K series engine which produces 68bhp @ 6200 RPM & 90Nm torque @ 3500 RPM. The model will have all new features of the Alto K-10 model including Redesigned headlamps & taillights, new fog-lamps and a new instrument cluster.
Maruti Alto is one of the five cheapest cars in India and is often looked upon as M800's sibling. The model has become the flagship model of the company ever since MSIL has phased out M800 gradually. Maruti Alto is stated to give a mileage of 21 kmpl on highways and about 17-18 kmpl in the city. The car comes with features such as an AC, fabric seats, remote fuel lid opener and the top end model includes a power steering, cup holders etc. The car comes with a price tag of Rs 2,28,814 – Rs 2,77,696 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
