      Engine:

The earlier model of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 came with a 796 cc F8D petrol engine, which could churn out a maximum power of 48 bhp at 6000 rpm and the highest torque of 49 Nm at 3500 rpm. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 comes with a 998 cc K10B petrol engine. It has the capability to power the car with 67 bhp at 6200 rpm and produces the highest torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. This increase in the power output and torque is a result of the advanced technology and engine used in the modern variant.

      Aesthetics

If the looks of the two cars are compared, there is a significant variation that can be noticed. The earlier model wasn’t designed so aerodynamically and had some restricting edges, whereas the new Alto K10 came with a re-engineered and redesigned structure in which the problems with the design were eliminated. Also, the length of the hatchback was increased from 3395 mm to 3620 mm, which was a great leap in terms of design and structure.

      Mileage

The earlier Alto used to give a mileage of 22.74 kmpl whereas the new Alto had a drawback of reduction in fuel efficiency. The fuel efficiency of Alto K10 remains restricted at 20.2 kmpl.

      Price

The earlier variant is priced at Rs. 3.05 lakhs whereas the new variant is priced at Rs. 3.28 lakhs. With the variation of just about Rs. 25,000, the latest model is mostly preferred by people all over the country.

Despite the long time since the launch of the first Maruti Suzuki Alto, the hatchback remains the first choice of many people when they are looking for a low-budget hatchback. Having a decent seating capacity of 4 people, this small car comes in different colors and extra features like central locking system (only in Alto K10).
