      Maruti Alto K10 facelift gets exquisite microsite

      Slated to launch in India on November 14th in India, Maruti Alto K10 facelift gets its exquisite microsite. Bragging cosmetic and mechanical changes, highlight of the new Alto K10 will be inclusion of automated manual transmission and enhanced fuel economy. New Alto range will include five manual variant equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox, while AMT tranny will be offered on just one trim (VXi).

      Among its various firsts are a driver side airbag and a dual DIN music system with integrated USB and AUX-in ports with radio, CD and MP3 functions. Features exquisite to range topping variant include power-steering, front power windows, foglights and internally adjustable wing mirrors. All thanks to the use of new combustion techniques and remapping, the hatchback is now claimed to deliver an ARAI certified fuel economy of 24.07 kmpl (petrol variant). CNG trim on the other hand is vouched to return 32.26 km/kg.

      Power will continue to be generated from the same 1.0 litre, three cylinder, K-Series engine capable of outputting maximum power of 68 PS along with top torque of 90 Nm. In its segment, the hatchback will take on the likes of Datsun GO, Hyundai Eon and Chevrolet Spark. However On the price front, it is expected that the new version of Alto K10 could be offered at a starting price of Rs 3.2 lakh and its range topping trim could be priced at Rs 4 lakh. Rumours suggest that Tata Motors is also developing AMT variant of Nano. Likely to be priced much low than Alto K10, Nano’s AMT variant could snatch away the title of least priced automatic car in domestic market.
