India’s popular small car, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, recently received minor cosmetic upgrades. Post its India launch, Maruti’s entry-level car has now been introduced in Sri Lanka at prices starting from LKR 20.15 lakhs (Rs 9.33 Lakh). However, the new Alto 800 facelift will only be offered in LXi and VXi variants for the Sri Lankan market.
Under the hood, the Alto 800 continues to be powered by the existing 800cc petrol engine which generates 47bhp of power and 69Nm of torque. The fairly powered engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Owing to few tweaks, the new model claims to return a fuel efficiency figure of 24.7kmpl. Additionally, it also gets a brake booster for improved braking performance.
As for the interiors, the car gets dark grey shade with new seat upholstery, door trim fabric and integrated headrest for the rear seats. The top-end VXi variant additionally offers keyless entry, music system and a parcel tray. As for safety, a driver's side airbag is optional on both the variants.
As for the design, the new Alto 800 facelift gets a new large grille in the front bumper, tweaked headlamps and two new exterior colour options - Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue.
