      The Indian industry was quite busy in the last week of June 2012 as it witnessed several spy shots, a couple of much-awaited launches and a handful of scoops. The most important event that took place during the period is the launch of highly anticipated BMW 3 Series sedan, which was exhibited on 27th July 2012. At the launch event of BMW’s sixth generation model, the show stopper was Sachin Tendulkar, who is presently the brand ambassador of the German auto maker.

      Considering other launches in the fourth week of July 2012, Mahindra & Mahindra broke the cover of its 2012 Verito. This time the car is provided with a unique design, which is sure to pull the volumes for the auto maker. At the launch event of new Verito, the company officials declared that they are also planning to launch a sub 4-metre model of Verito, which is anticipated to hit the Indian industry soon.

      In the league of launches, Hyundai Motor delivered a final verdict on their new midsize sedan, Fluidic Elantra, which is expected to sparkle at the Indian shores by the mid of August 2012. The company has already started accepting the bookings of their new model, which will be placed in D segment post launch. Last in the bandwagon of launches, Tata Motor also expressed its plans for introducing a revamped avatar of Manza sedan, which is likely to hit the roads somewhere in September this year.

      Bringing the test mules in limelight, during the period, spy shots of Mahindra Mini Xylo were seen, which is anticipated to witness the daylight in the festival season this year. Adding a feather to its hat, the facelifted version of Ford Figo was also caught on lens, which is also believed to mark its industry presence in the same period.

      In order to taste the pie of success in the Indian auto industry, the Japanese auto maker Nissan also seems set to introduce its Dastun brand in the country in the small car segment. The company is planning to launch two cars in an economical price range, which are believed to square off against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Hyundai’s iconic model Eon. Both of these models are anticipated to spark at the Indian showrooms by 2014 and will be priced under a price of Rs. 4 lacs.
