India's leading Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) maker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) declared that its Xylo Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) has sold more than 1 lac units in India. The model holds its ground in this segment due to its contemporary looks and user friendly features. It has been an instant hit for M&M since its launch in January 2009, as it is deemed to be one of the most feature-packed MPVs available in the Indian market.
On its journey towards the milestone of 1 lac vehicles sold in the country, the Xylo has been acknowledged as the 'MPV of the Year' by several top-end media publications. The model was also recognised by the Limca Book of Records for being the fastest car to finish West East Rally. Xylo enjoyed a 25 per cent market share in UV2 category in FY 2012, as per industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), due to the high level customer satisfaction. The model’s popularity extends even to social media, as more than 8 lac people are its fans on Facebook.
