New Spyshots of Mahindra XUV100 (S101) are aired on the internet, showcasing the compact car with rear door handles near the windows. The design of the car is quite similar to that of Chevrolet Beat. At the side profile, wheel caps are expected to feature in all the variants, except the top-end version, which is likely to come with alloy wheels. The new model has been designed on the monocoque platform with front wheel drive chassis, and will come equipped with an option of 3-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options.
The petrol variant is expected to feature an all-new 1.2-liter engine, which will make the company's debut in petrol series. On the other hand, the diesel engine will be sourced from the TUV300. Alongwith performance oriented engine, the company is also expected to offer an option of either manual or automatic transmission gearbox. With these figures, the car will be offered with a price tag of Rs. 4 lakh. Post launch, XUV100 will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki WagonR.
At interiors, the car will feature a foldable middle seat, three-spoke steering wheel, column mounted gearlever and rotary knobs. sources close to the development process have hinted that the car will be launched in 2015 itself and take the market by storm.
